The short version above is accurate but not complete. Like you I’m an avid reader and I love science fiction. I’ve read it all my life, sometimes a book a day.

I’m not a big talker, or a sharer, and this frequently made my co-workers mad, because at lunch or in breaks between meetings I’d spend my time reading rather than hanging out and chatting. They thought I wasn’t interested in them, which wasn’t true.

The fact is, I don’t do well in groups. I much prefer one-on-one conversations. So it’s hard writing this down and asking people I don’t know to read the books I’ve written for them, other people like me, who were running out of things to read.

The stories I like, positive stories of adventure and real heroes working hard and taking risks to build a better future? It seems like they were either no longer popular, or just weren’t being written anymore, for whatever reason.

So I decided to write them.

And even though it’s not natural for me, I’ve decided to tell people about them so they know they’re out there and can find them.

Whether you’re gregarious by nature or a fellow introvert I’m sure we have a lot in common. You’ve founds your way here, after all.
